EDUARDO CONSUEGRA, 'IN BOND' AT RICHARD TELLES IN LA

EDUARDO CONSUEGRA
IN BOND
SEPTEMBER 6 - OCTOBER 4, 2008
Opening Reception: Saturday, September 6th, 5 - 7pm

Richard Telles Fine Art is pleased to present In Bond*, an exhibition by Eduardo Consuegra. Eduardo Consuegra’s first Los Angeles exhibition will consist of collages and a mirrored sculpture. For the collages Consuegra incorporates culturally specific magazines that were once intended for mass circulation and rapid consumption, altering meaning through obstruction and layers of reflection.

For example, one collage work featured in the exhibition is a combination of two posters layered upon each other. Dated by their images, they become the product of the passage of time and the inevitable degradation that transpires; all the colors have faded, only the cyan blue ink remains.

Eduardo Consuegra was born in Bogotá, Colombia. He received his MFA from Art Center College of Art and Design in the spring of 2008. He has exhibited in several institutions and galleries in Southern California including, The Santa Monica Museum of Art, The San Diego Art Museum, and Daniel Hug Gallery in Chinatown. This is Eduardo’s first solo
exhibition in the United States.
