Blow de la Barra is proud to announce the opening of a temporary space in Athens, Greece.
Blow de la Barra will take over the last two floors and rooftop of a building located in Leonidou 11, in the neighbourhood of Kerameikos. The first exhibition will show new work and a site specific painting in the rooftop by Federico Herrero, and will open on September 8.
Blow de la Barra Athens is part of REmap KM, a project running parallel to the 1st International Athens Art Biennial, taking place from September - November 2007 at the Kerameikos/Metaxourgeio (KM) downtown district of Athens. REmap KM aims to offer an additional strand to the conceptual & methodological context of the "Destroy Athens" Biennial by engaging with a particular area of Athens & redefining the inhabitation & utilization of different sites through diverse & distributed means. http://www.remapkm.com
REmap KM will also have an open-air video-art & film screening program, where videos of Los Super Elegantes, Matthieu Laurette, Miltos Manetas, Marcelo Krasilcic, Carolina Caycedo and Stefan Bruggemann will be shown.
Blow de la Barra will also exhibit within its space one of Angelo Plessas guerilla website projects done specifically for the Istanbul, Athens and Lyon biennales.
